The Church of Purgatory, built between 1722 and 1725 in the heart of the historic center, is a refined example of Baroque architecture. Also known as the Church of San Nicola da Tolentino, it is distinguished by its stone façade and 18th-century paintings inside, and remains an important place of worship managed by the local confraternity. During last year’s festival, the exhibition held here was the highlight of the entire program, attracting over 100,000 visitors.
