#SpazioFOTOcopia is a format conceived by Yvonne De Rosa for MagazziniFotografici, created to explore photography through alternative materials and unconventional display strategies. Exhibitions and interventions unfold outside traditional frameworks, questioning the habitual ways in which images are exhibited and consumed.
Within the Ostuni photo festival 2026, the project occupies not only the usual gallery space but also the urban area through a map of posters where images are not shown but objectively described. In a present dominated by rapid, distracted image consumption — especially on social media — attention spans and critical engagement have progressively diminished. #SpazioFOTOcopia disrupts this dynamic: in place of the photograph, the viewer encounters its textual description. The passerby is compelled to pause, mentally reconstruct the image, and access it through a QR code linking to Instagram, emblem of the relentless circulation of images.
The digital referral introduces a further layer: the possibility of disappearance. Should the post be removed, the QR code would deactivate, leaving only the description behind. The photograph thus reveals its fragility, revocable, contingent, dependent on an unstable system. Absence becomes a critical device, and the posted sheet transforms into a manifesto on the image itself.
